Joan is President of Learn Career Options, LLC and recently moved from CT/NY area to Sarasota. Her firm focuses on helping individuals —especially baby boomers—- develop their next career options or a portfolio of options. She and her team provide a series of unique assessments to start the Career Options Process and then guide individuals on how to obtain their targeted career goals. Joan is also a certified Retirement Options Coach to help individuals plan for a rewarding life in their later stages of life. Her assessment instrument provides feedback on 5 arenas of your life other than financial.
Prior to Learn Career Options, Joan was General Manager for the Connecticut office of The Ayers Group, a global career transition and executive coaching firm for 15 years. She marketed their services to client companies in the Connecticut/New York area coached many individuals through their transitions into meaningful and rewarding careers.
Her previous positions with 3 other outplacement firms included starting and running her own firm in Greenwich, Ct until it was acquired by a large firm headquartered in the Philadelphia area.
She began her career with IBM in Endicott, NY in the Human Resource Department. She has been quoted in the past in many publications including Forbes, Fortune, Wall Street Journal regarding career issues. She has an Associates’ Degree in Business and a BS in Psychology.
Joan is a founding member of the CT chapter of the Assoc. of Career Professionals and is a member of ATD (Association of Training and Development). She also served on the Advisory Council of Habitat for Humanity in CT.
She has an office in downtown on Orange Street to serve local clients and serves clients remotely mostly from the CT/NY/NJ area.
