Known to her clients affectionately as “The Lion Tamer,” Dr. Leslie Austin has over twenty years’ experience helping successful senior executives and leaders create a positive change in behavior patterns: for themselves and for their colleagues and teams. These positive behavior changes result in significantly improved performance and effectiveness at work, at leisure, and at home. Dr. Austin is an executive coach, trainer, psychotherapist, and organizational consultant, working with individuals and teams to effect long-lasting changes in behavior and effectiveness, and communications styles and strategies. She specializes in helping her clients perform at a maximum capacity, to be effective, to lead, and to get better, faster results in achieving their goals. She is unique in that she is expert in helping people go from dysfunctional to highly functional, and to learn to think and behave strategically and ethically while negotiating the challenging corporate politics and personalities which dominate their work lives. Her client list includes Fortune 100 companies, small companies, and individuals.

She brings to her work the unique perspectives of Gestalt, Jungian, and Core Energetics training as a psychotherapist; seven years as a Professor of communications, theater, and music; and extensive experience as a performer. She has earned a Ph.D. from New York University in Performance Studies, is a licensed psychotherapist in New York State, is a graduate of and former supervisor at the four-year Clinical Fellowship Program at the Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy and is a certified mediator. She is presently adjunct faculty at New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies, teaching courses in coaching, leadership and management. She is also a former Assistant Professor at Adelphi University, Brooklyn College (City University of New York), the New York Institute of Technology, and Marymount Manhattan College of Manhattan.

She has recently attained the rare distinction of becoming Board Approved in Executive Coaching and Behavior Modification by the Society for the Advancement of Consulting. In addition, she has been elected to the Mentor Hall of Fame, an equally select group of high-achieving unique consultants, and has been certified as a Mastor Mentor. Dr. Austin appears frequently in international, national and local radio, television and print media and has an extensive list of media credentials. She is currently a regular guest expert on CNN’s Headline News Network, appearing live most often with Nancy Grace.
